France’s Foreign Ministry: Minsk agreements remain sole basis for Donbas conflict resolution
“The Minsk agreement is the sole accepted basis for achieving a just and lasting resolution to the Donbas conflict,” the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France stated, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As noted, France and Germany are working together within the Normandy Format to pursue its full implementation. There are regular contacts in this regard, the Ministry added.
As reported, on March 9, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak announced a new plan for a peaceful settlement in Donbas, prepared by Ukraine and Western partners.
Ukraine’s representative in the Normandy format consultations at the level of political advisers explained that a "very powerful step" was proposed by Germany and France. Yermak hopes that it will be "a subject of a serious discussion in a week or two" during a video conference in the Normandy format.
