Ukrinform
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated Lithuania on the 31st anniversary of the restoration of its independence.

According to Ukrinform, he wrote this on his Twitter account.

"What is real always wins. Thirty-one years ago, Lithuania reaffirmed its European direction of development and chose such values as human dignity and freedom. Gitanas Nauseda, congratulations on Lithuania's Independence Day!" Zelensky wrote.

March 11 marks Independence Day in Lithuania. On this day in 1990, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania adopted the Act on the Restoration of the Independent State of Lithuania and its Withdrawal from the USSR. Lithuania thus became the first Soviet republic to declare its independence.
