Zelensky may hold next press conference in May - Mendel

"There is no exact date. He [President Zelensky] is open; he is ready to answer all questions... I think that it could be on the second anniversary [of his election], on May 20, but I cannot say for sure right now,” Mendel said in an interview with the editor-in-chief of the Gordon online media outlet, Olesia Batsman.

According to Mendel, it is not obligatory for the President to give regular press conferences.

“The president is not obliged to hold regular press conferences. However, we had many communications. During the election campaign, we visited almost every city, and we had a press briefing in each of these cities. There were many questions. That is, let's say, in one place - five channels with journalists, in another - 72 people... Now, when we travel, even despite the coronavirus and restrictions, we try to invite journalists - as much as possible amid these restrictions,” Mendel said.

According to her, various formats are used for communication, such as political talk shows, blogs, online interviews, communication with foreign media. In particular, the President's Office have recently received about 100 interview requests from various media outlets, including foreign ones.
