Zelensky urges EU to continue to put pressure on Russia due to its constant provocations in Donbas
The head of state said this during a joint press conference with European Council President Charles Michel at the Shchastia border crossing point in Luhansk region on March 2, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"In recent weeks, there have been regular provocations by illegal armed formations, which complicate the situation in the east of the country and the path to peace. Our soldiers keep on dying,” Zelensky said.
He stressed that in the last 10 days alone, two Ukrainian soldiers were killed in Donbas.
"I will be very grateful to you, Mr. President, for further mobilizing pressure from the European Union and EU member states on Russia. Like no other, Ukraine seeks to achieve peace in Donbas through diplomacy. We will be able to do this together, feeling the support of our partners, our international partners, and your personal support for the sake of stability and security - security in Ukraine, security on the European continent," Zelensky stressed.
As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is on a working visit to the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Luhansk region on March 2. During the visit, Zelensky meets with European Council President Charles Michel.
