Ukraine does not plan to deviate from the format of the Minsk Agreements, although they need modernization.

"The authorities will not and does not plan to deviate from the Minsk format because this is a political and diplomatic commitment made in 2014 and extended in 2015," Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said on the air of 1+1 TV channel.

At the same time, Reznikov noted that the Minsk Agreements are imperfect and legally shaky and need to be revised and modernized. According to the official, the reintegration of territories should be safe and should not bear the risks of splitting the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed out that Russia is violating the Minsk Agreements: "I would like to remind you that the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements clearly defines that the contact line should lie in certain coordinates determined by the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada. According to these agreements, Debaltseve should be in the territory controlled by the Government of Ukraine."

Reznikov stressed that Ukraine intends to continue to maintain its position in the negotiations.
