Kyiv should inform the world about national security protection through state channels and intelligence – Estonian ambassador

Ukrinform
Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine Kaimo Kuusk has advised the Ukrainian authorities to inform international partners in a timely manner and as widely as possible about Ukraine's steps to protect national security.

He said this during the panel discussion entitled "Stability and Security: What Can Ukraine Learn from NATO?" on February 17, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Estonia welcomes Ukraine's move to impose sanctions on the oligarch and shut down certain TV channels because we support Ukraine in its efforts to protect itself... We support everything you do in accordance with your legislation, perhaps we would only advise you to disseminate information about this in a timely manner through the maximum number of channels - state information channels and even intelligence," Kuusk said.

He added that Ukraine has partners in different capitals and recommended sharing with them information that is not publicly disclosed.

“Now is the very moment when [Ukraine] should seek as much support as possible, and this will be a good means to achieve this goal,” the Estonian ambassador noted.

As Ukrinform reported, on February 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against the NewsOne, ZIK and 112 Ukraine TV channels, as well as their owner, MP from the Opposition Platform – For Life party, Taras Kozak. The sanctions, among other things, provide for the revocation of licenses of these pro-Russian TV channels.
