During a visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the United Arab Emirates, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Interior of the UAE.

The memorandum, in particular, provides for the mutual recognition and exchange of national driver's licenses, Ukrinform reports with reference to the press service of the head of state.

On behalf of Ukraine, the memorandum was signed by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.

"From now on, the holder of a driver's license issued by the competent authority of one of the countries will have the right to drive a vehicle of the category specified in the driver's license in the territory of another country for a period determined by its national legislation," the report reads.

In addition, the conclusion of this memorandum will have a positive impact on the development of the tourism industry, economic and business activity, as well as promote the development of people-to-people contacts and increase bilateral passenger traffic.

As Ukrinform reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena Zelenska are on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates on February 14-15. A number of bilateral documents were signed during the visit.
