Crimean Platform will be epicenter of Russia's hybrid war against Ukraine in 2021 - Kuleba

Russia is trying to discredit the Crimean platform in every possible way, and next year this initiative will be an epicenter of Russia's hybrid war against Ukraine, according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

He said this during an online briefing on Thursday, December 24, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I am satisfied with the reaction of the Russian Federation to the Crimean Platform - this reaction is very nervous. They are trying to discredit this idea in every possible way. I get a lot of information in this regard from various channels. [...] We have to understand that the Crimean Platform will be one of the epicenters of Russia's hybrid war against Ukraine next year, but we know that the truth is on our side, that we are doing the right and just thing, and that there are enough allies on our side to achieve success in this sphere," Kuleba said.

The Crimean Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to improve the effectiveness of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security challenges, increase international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations and protect victims of the occupation regime, and to achieve the main goal of de-occupation of Crimea and its return to Ukraine.

The Crimean Platform is expected to operate at the level of heads of state and government, foreign ministers, in the dimension of inter-parliamentary cooperation, and in the format of an expert network.

Officially, the activity of the Crimean Platform will be launched at an inaugural summit, due to be held in Kyiv in 2021.
