Zelensky signs law on liability for inaccurate declaration

Ukrinform
President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law on establishing liability for declaring inaccurate information and failure to file a declaration, the president’s press service reports.

The President signed Law No.1074-IX "On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Establishing Liability for Declaring Inaccurate Information and Failure to Submit a Declaration by a Person Authorized to Perform State or Local Self-Government Functions".

The law returns the responsibility for declaring unreliable information and for failure to submit a declaration, which was revoked by a decision of the Constitutional Court.

Relevant amendments are being made to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law “On Prevention of Corruption”.

It is noted, the signed document eliminates gaps in the legislation, which arose in connection with the Constitutional Court’s ruling as of October 27, 2020, and provides opportunities for criminal prosecution for declaring inaccurate information and for failure to submit a declaration by a person authorized to perform state or local self-government functions.
