Ukraine has had an extremely successful year in the field of European and Euro-Atlantic integration and will continue its strategic course for full membership in the European Union and NATO, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

The head of state said this in his speech during a videoconference with the heads of foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine, the presidential press service reported.

"Our common choice is to be part of a democratic world and to establish high democratic standards in Ukraine. On the international stage, we have to be active promoters of democratic values and strengthen our position as a subject, not an object, of geopolitical relations," Zelensky said.

He recalled that Ukraine occupies a strategically important place on the modern geopolitical map of the world. According to Zelensky, the Ukrainian state has long determined the area of its movement.

"Ukraine's strategic course is defined and enshrined in the Constitution - the acquisition of Ukraine's full membership in the European Union and NATO," Zelensky said.

On June 12, Ukraine was granted the status of a member in NATO's Enhanced Opportunities Partnership (EOP) program.
