Rada ratifies UK-Ukraine political, free trade and strategic partnership agreement

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, 303 MPs voted for the document at a parliament meeting on Wednesday, December 16.

"By ratifying this agreement, we will take relations with Britain, our trusted friend and partner, to a whole new level. Optimal conditions will be created for free trade between our countries, which will facilitate the entry of Ukrainian companies with their goods into the UK market," said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, presenting the bill.

In addition, according to him, thanks to this agreement, Ukraine will strengthen its political partnership with the United Kingdom and bring it to a strategic level in the field of counteracting Russian aggression against Ukraine.

According to Kuleba, a new format of relations will be introduced, and it will ensure the regular exchange and coordination of key international positions between London and Kyiv.

"It is also important to emphasize that the agreement provides for the development of a migration dialogue between Britain and Ukraine, as a result of which the conditions of travel of Ukrainian citizens to the UK will be simplified," he said.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Political, Free Trade and Strategic Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom was of great strategic and practical importance and served as a new basis for bilateral relations.
