The creation of a Crimean Platform will help keep the issue of de-occupation of Crimea high on the international agenda.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen stated this during the strategic discussion "Diplomacy 2021: government priorities, expectations of society", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Germany, as well as the entire European Union, supports the Ukrainian idea of the Crimean Platform. After all, we believe that it is very important to keep the issue of Crimea high on the agenda. As when a new crisis comes, we forget about the old crisis, and we must not allow this to happen to Crimea. The Crimean Platform will help achieve this goal,” the ambassador said.

As reported, the Crimean Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to improve the international response to the occupation of Crimea, react to security challenges, increase international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupation regime, as well as to achieve the main goal - the de-occupation of Crimea and its return to Ukraine.

The Crimean Platform is expected to operate at the levels of heads of state and government, foreign ministers, inter-parliamentary cooperation and expert network.

The Crimean Platform will be officially launched at the inaugural summit, which is scheduled for 2021 in Kyiv.
