Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov and Ambassador of Sweden to Ukraine Tobias Thyberg have discussed the security situation in Donbas, the NSDC has reported on its Facebook page.

"On the eve of Sweden's chairmanship in the OSCE on January 1, 2021, the parties discussed the security situation, in particular, in eastern Ukraine. Regarding the Minsk agreements, the council's secretary stated that Ukraine's position remains unchanged: Russia must withdraw its troops from the temporarily occupied territories and return to Ukraine the control over the Ukrainian-Russian border," the report said.

According to Danilov, compromises in the negotiation process are possible, but not to the detriment of Ukraine's national interests.

He stressed that the Ukrainian side "will never cross the red lines."

Danilov also noted that Ukraine and its international partners are working together to end the war in Donbas.
