Verkhovna Rada approves law on development of multimodal transportation

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted in its entirety the Law "On joining the Agreement on the Development of Multimodal Transportation TRACECA" (No.0052).

The law was supported by 305 MPs on December 2, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The document is aimed to ensure the implementation of domestic procedures required to accede to the Agreement on the development of multimodal transportation TRACECA in compliance with the laws of Ukraine.

According to the explanatory note, the Agreement on the Development of Multimodal Transportation TRACECA was concluded in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan, on June 16, 2009. The Agreement is intended to improve the regulatory framework, improve the conditions of transportation in the region of the countries participating in international transport corridor Europe – the Caucasus - Asia, as well as to simplify multimodal transport procedures.
