Kuleba, Maas discuss prospects for further consultations of Normandy Four ministers
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s press service reported this following a phone conversation between Kuleba and Maas.
During the talk, the foreign ministers welcomed the high dynamics of relations between Ukraine and Germany, including cooperation between the leaders, the foreign ministers, the visit of the Ukrainian parliament speaker to Germany, preparations for political consultations between the foreign ministries.
Kuleba also informed his interlocutor about Ukraine's efforts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict in Donbas.
"Heiko Maas praised Ukraine's efforts in the Normandy format and the Trilateral Contact Group: compliance, despite cases of violations, of the ceasefire regime and the opening of new entry-exit checkpoints in Shchastia and Zolote in Luhansk region. The parties discussed the prospect for contacts between the foreign ministers in the Normandy Format," reads the statement.
The German foreign minister also welcomed the Ukrainian initiative to establish the Crimean Platform and noted the importance of keeping the topic of temporarily occupied Crimea among the priorities on the international agenda.
In addition, the ministers discussed preparations for next year's Eastern Partnership summit. Kuleba stressed the importance of further gradual integration of Ukraine into the internal market of the European Union.
Kuleba and Maas also exchanged views on the situation in Belarus.
