During the next plenary week, the Ukrainian parliament may consider a draft resolution on timely informing and taking the necessary measures by the government in the event of a lockdown.

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov said this live on the Freedom of Speech talk show on the ICTV channel on Monday, November 9, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I think that my colleagues will not oppose this resolution. I am sure that we will be able to discuss it at the conciliation council next Monday [November 16] and consider it next plenary week," Razumkov said.

As Ukrinform reported, on November 5, MPs from the Holos faction registered a draft resolution "On timely informing citizens in case of strengthening anti-epidemic measures in order to properly prepare for such actions."

This document provides that in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Cabinet of Ministers will be able to introduce a lockdown when the relevant decision is made public no later than seven calendar days.
