Ukraine, Vietnam discuss bilateral relations amid COVID-19

On November 3, 2020, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhenii Yenin met with Ambassador of Vietnam to Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan who is completing his diplomatic mission in Ukraine.

According to the Foreign Ministry’s press service, Yenin emphasized that Vietnam remains an important partner of Ukraine in Southeast Asia and one of the leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). While noting the successful chairmanship of Vietnam in this important regional organization this year, Yenin emphasized our state’s aspirations to establish closer cooperation with ASEAN.

The interlocutors discussed the development of bilateral relations in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, deepening contacts at high and highest levels, as well as holding political consultations between the foreign ministries of Ukraine and Vietnam.

Yevhenii Yenin thanked Nguyen Anh Tuan for his work as the head of the Vietnamese diplomatic mission in Ukraine and wished him every success in his future diplomatic endeavors.
