President supports ‘restart’ of Kyiv District Administrative Court

"I really think there should be a restart of the Kyiv District Administrative Court. We have discussed with experts that if we now remove the composition of the Kyiv District Administrative Court in some way or completely level its work, then we will have problems with the fact that the High Qualifications Commission of Judges has not been launched, and it must elect judges. Therefore, first, I think we need to resolve the issue of the High Qualifications Commission of Judges, and then talk about the Kyiv District Administrative Court,” he said during the Svoboda Slova talk show on the ICTV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Zelensky, a special commission on legal issues has been established at the President’s Office.

"As for the Constitutional Court and the Kyiv District Administrative Court and the work of judges in general, and the integrity of the judiciary, a commission has already been formed at the Office of the President of Ukraine, and we expect real, serious, fundamental work from it [the commission], so that we can really carry out this reform not in 10 years, but during my cadence...  even in the coming months, so that the society really understand that we want to restart the judiciary," the president said.

As reported, a petition calling on the President of Ukraine to submit to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the liquidation of the Kyiv District Administrative Court gained the required 25,000 votes for its consideration.
