NSDC Secretary, Afghanistan’s Ambassador discuss trade, economic, military and technical cooperation

Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Ukraine Wali Monawar have discussed bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, military, technical, and cultural spheres.

 “Secretary Danilov stated that both countries had many prospects for cooperation. As noted, it is necessary to develop cooperation in the field of cyber security in the light of new challenges,” the Council’s press service informs.

The parties also discussed the signing of a memorandum of bilateral security cooperation.

During the meeting, Mr. Ambassador stressed that his country sought to develop relations with Ukraine, which is important for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and expressed support for Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. In addition, Monawar underscored the importance of more active involvement of Ukraine in multilateral format cooperation with Afghanistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
