Duda unveils monument to Solidarity legend near Polish Embassy in Kyiv

Polish President Andrzej Duda has unveiled a monument to legendary Solidarity activist Anna Walentynowicz - ethnic Ukrainian Anna Lubczyk – outside the building of the Polish Embassy in Kyiv, the Chancellery of the President of Poland has reported on Facebook.

"This monument symbolizes solidarity between the Polish and Ukrainian peoples," Duda said.

At the Polish Embassy in Kyiv, Duda also presented awards to Polish special forces servicemen who are on a training mission in Ukraine as part of the allied cooperation.

On Tuesday, Duda will also take part in an economic forum in Odesa. An agreement on cooperation between the ports of Gdansk and Odesa is to be signed.

Duda is on an official visit to Ukraine on October 11-13. On October 12, he met with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
