Sanctions imposed on Russia over its aggression against Ukraine must remain in place until Ukraine's territorial integrity is restored.

"I reaffirm that Poland supports Ukraine in the issue of Ukrainian borders and [urges] that the borders must be restored within the internationally recognized framework. It means restoring Ukraine's control over the territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. It also means regaining control over Crimea," President of Poland Andrzej Duda said at a joint briefing with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Monday.

He added that the issue of Crimea is very important and further stressed that Poland emphasizes in the international arena that Crimea is occupied by Russia.

The President of Poland stressed that the sanctions imposed over the Russian aggression are "something natural and Poland is convinced that the sanctions policy must definitely remain in place until the occupation ends."

"And we will always call on the EU and various international communities to stick to this," Duda said.

He noted that any forced shifting of borders after World War II in Europe is unacceptable, and the international community should never agree to this.

As reported, President of Poland Andrzej Duda and Poland’s First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda make a state visit to Ukraine on October 11-13.
