First Lady, House of Lords member discuss fight against domestic violence

Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska and Baroness Liz Sugg, a member of the UK Parliament's House of Lords and the Special Envoy for Girls' Education, have discussed gender equality and the fight against domestic and gender-based violence, the press service of the President's Office has reported.

"During the meeting, the president's wife and Baroness Sag discussed the achievements and future plans of Ukraine and the United Kingdom in creating equal opportunities for women and men, as well as the steps taken by both countries to combat domestic and gender-based violence in the world," the report reads.

Following the meeting, Olena Zelenska and Baroness Liz Sugg agreed to continue and expand the dialogue and deepen cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom on gender equality and combating domestic and gender-based violence.

A Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelensky paid an official visit to the United Kingdom on October 7-8.
