Ukrainian, Slovak ministers sign bilateral documents in Bratislava

Ukrinform
During an official visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to Slovakia, a number of Ukrainian-Slovak documents have been signed.

Thus, in the presence of the heads of the two states, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii and Minister of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic Andrej Doležal signed an agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Slovak Republic on determining the conditions for the use of a certain part of the airspace of the Slovak Republic in connection with the provision of airspace services by a Ukrainian air navigation services provider at Uzhhorod International Airport.

Following a meeting with President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová in Bratislava, Zelensky noted that one of the key issues in their negotiations was the resumption of the full functioning of Uzhhorod International Airport.

The signing of the document will ensure the full operation of Uzhhorod International Airport and the launch of flights between Zakarpattia region and other regions of Ukraine, as well as foreign countries.

The agreement takes into account the security and defense aspects that arise from the membership of the Slovak Republic in NATO.

Vladyslav Kryklii and Andrej Doležal also signed a memorandum between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic on cooperation in combined transport between Asia and the European Union through the territories of Ukraine and Slovakia.

The expediency of signing the document is due to the fact that our states have common interests in ensuring rail container transportation on the Asia (China) - Europe (Slovakia) route.

The document will contribute to the implementation of a project to create multimodal logistics centers (terminals) in Ukraine and Slovakia for handling cargo on this route, which will ultimately strengthen the strategic position of the two states as a bridge between the West and the East.
