Five Ukraine v. Russia cases currently pending before ECHR
This is stated in the press release of the Court published on Friday, an Ukrinform own correspondent reports.
As noted, the Court decided to strike the application dated 2015 out of its list of cases at the request of the Government of Ukraine. The application concerned the repressions of the Russian occupation authorities against the Crimean Tatars. The application was stricken out because representatives of the Crimean Tatar people filed an individual application against the Russian Federation to the Court.
The interstate applications of 2014 and 2016 over Russia's occupation of Crimea and military aggression in Donbas are currently pending before the Court.
The application lodged in 2014 over the alleged abduction of three groups of children in eastern Ukraine and their temporary transfer to Russia is pending before the Chamber.
In 2018, Ukraine filed two lawsuits against Russia over the persecution of Ukrainian citizens and the illegal seizure of Ukrainian sailors and boats in the Kerch Strait and their subsequent detention on Russian territory. These applications are still pending as well.
