The National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) has called on Ukrainian political parties to prove their transparency to citizens before the local elections and submit financial reports for the first and second quarters of 2020.

In a post on its Facebook page, the Agency wrote: "Only 67% of registered parties reported their assets and expenditures for the first quarter of 2020. 45% of parties reported for the second quarter. In this regard, the NAPC urges political parties to submit their reports before campaigning so that voters can be sure of their integrity and transparency of financing”.

The NAPC also reminded that in line with the amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Political Parties”, political parties must submit their reports no later than 40 days after the end of lockdown measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which were introduced by the Cabinet of Ministers.
