Ukraine, Austria sign agreements on support for children with cancer, regional cooperation

Ukraine and Austria have signed a number of bilateral documents on support for children with cancer and their families and on cooperation between Kyiv region and Lower Austria.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Austrian counterpart Alexander Van der Bellen in Vienna on Tuesday, September 15, the press service of the head of the Ukrainian state reported.

According to the report, Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov and Executive Director of GLOBAL 2000 Agnes Zauner signed an agreement on cooperation in support of children and families in Kharkiv region between Kharkiv Regional State Administration and GLOBAL 2000, an Austrian environmental protection organization that implements the humanitarian project "Children of Chornobyl."

In addition, Head of Luhansk Regional State Administration Serhiy Haidai and Zauner signed an agreement on cooperation in support of children and families in Luhansk region between the Luhansk Regional Civil-Military Administration and GLOBAL 2000.

According to the report, both agreements envisage the continuation and strengthening of cooperation to provide modern and affordable medical care for children with cancer, rehabilitation, training of medical staff, the introduction of modern methods of supporting children during treatment, supporting families in difficult situations and improving the quality of life of children.

Head of Kyiv Regional State Administration Vasyl Volodin and Governor of Lower Austria Johanna Mikl-Leitner also signed an agreement on cooperation between Kyiv region and the federal state of Lower Austria to deepen friendly relations.

Zelensky is on an official visit to Austria on September 15-16.
