Ukrainian MP Geo Leros has been expelled from the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party, the faction has reported on its Facebook page.

"Following the collection of signatures, a majority of MPs voted for the decision to expel Geo Leros as a member of the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," the report reads.

Earlier, MP Yelyzaveta Yasko stated that the Servant of the People faction was collecting signatures to expel MP Geo Leros from the faction.

Leros said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had allegedly ordered faction leader David Arakhamia to collect signatures for his expulsion from the faction after Leros' speech in parliament on September 1.

Leros said from the parliament's rostrum on September 1 that the president had violated his election promises.

In March, Leros posted several videos on Facebook in which Denys Yermak, the brother of Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, allegedly discusses with interlocutors the appointment of people to public posts.

Yermak appealed to the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Bureau of Investigation in connection with the released video and said that it was about a planned action and a matter of national security.

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office said that criminal proceedings had been opened at Leros' request regarding bribes received during the appointment of people to public posts.

On April 24, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office said that in the case, registered at Leros' request, the qualification had been changed from abuse of influence to fraud and the case had been transferred to the police.

The State Bureau of Investigation opened proceedings on Yermak's statement regarding the dissemination of materials about the alleged sale of government positions.

At the same time, Zelensky said at a press conference on May 20 that the case was "empty" and added that he knew who made the recordings and wanted to blackmail him.
