PM Shmyhal: UAH 8.5 bln of educational subvention transferred to regions

The Cabinet of Ministers transferred UAH 8.5 billion of educational subvention to the accounts of local government bodies, which could be used to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“UAH 8.5 billion of educational subvention, which is in reserve, has been transferred to local government bodies. These funds are on the accounts of local government and can be used for the purpose, in particular for personal protective equipment, disinfectants and everything necessary to ensure the educational process,” the prime minister said on the TV channel “Ukraine 24”.
Earlier, acting Education and Science Minister Serhiy Shkarlet stated at a briefing that the Education Ministry had not received any funds from the Fund to fight the coronavirus disease.
On April 22, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for using the money of the Fund to fight the coronavirus disease. The size of the Fund is about UAH 65 billion.
