President expresses condolences over explosions in Beirut

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reacted to the explosions that took place in Lebanon on the evening of August 4.

"I am deeply shocked by news of massive explosions in Beirut and many casualties. My deepest condolences to the relatives and close ones of the victims. I also wish speedy recovery to those injured. My thoughts are with the people of Lebanon on this tragic day," the head of state posted on Twitter.

More than 70 people are dead and thousands are injured after two explosions shook Lebanon’s capital Beirut on Tuesday, August 4. The death toll has been rising by the hour, as investigators try to determine the cause.
