UN, OSCE should send their human rights representatives to annexed Crimea – Swiss president

Switzerland does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea and believes that the UN and the OSCE should immediately send their human rights representatives to the occupied peninsula.

President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommaruga said this at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky following bilateral talks in Kyiv today, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Switzerland does not recognize the annexation of Crimea and believes that the UN and the OSCE should immediately send their human rights representatives there," the President of the Swiss Confederation stressed.

Simonetta Sommaruga also said that Switzerland is constantly monitoring the situation in Donbas and welcomed the recent release of detainees.

"Switzerland is also pleased that the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office and in the Trilateral Contact Group, Ambassador Heidi Grau, has been leading the negotiations in the TCG since January," she noted.
