Arakhamia: Verkhovna Rada to consider bill on reforming SBU in September

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine plans to consider a new bill on reforming the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in September.

Head of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamia stated this during the Svoboda Slova political talk show on ICTV, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"As for law enforcement agencies…  Our committee is developing a new bill on the SBU. And we will submit this bill to a vote in September," Arakhamia said.

He also announced the consideration of a new bill on the Bureau of Financial Investigations.

As reported, on May 20, the Verkhovna Rada sent the presidential bill (No.3196) “on improving the organizational and legal framework of the Security Service of Ukraine" to the parliamentary committee.
