Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree on Ukraine's withdrawal from the agreement on the establishment of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS member states.

The text of the document has been published on the website of the head of state.

"In accordance with paragraph 3 of the first part of Article 106 of the Constitution of Ukraine, pursuant to Article 54 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties and Article 8 of the Agreement on the Establishment of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the Participating States of the Commonwealth of Independent States, I decree to withdraw from the Agreement on the Establishment of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the Participating States of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which was concluded in Ashgabat on December 5, 2012," the decree reads.

The president instructed the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to inform the CIS Executive Committee of Ukraine's withdrawal from the agreement.

On January 15, the Cabinet of Ministers supported a draft presidential decree on Ukraine's withdrawal from the agreement on the establishment of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS member states.

It was noted that this step will reduce Ukraine's obligations within the CIS and help protect the state's national interests.
