Kuleba, Mammadyarov discuss Ukraine-Azerbaijan cooperation in international organizations

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov discussed cooperation in the international organizations and counteraction to the spread of coronavirus.

This was discussed during a telephone conversation between the ministers, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informs.

“The parties discussed Ukraine-Azerbaijan cooperation in international organizations. In particular, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister congratulated his Ukrainian counterpart on the successful results of the video conference of the EU Eastern Partnership summit. In turn, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine underscored the effective leadership of Azerbaijan in the Non-Aligned Movement," the statement reads.

The ministers also exchanged experience in countering the spread of COVID-19 in their countries.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reminded that Ukraine- Azerbaijan political consultations had been held at the level of Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar and Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov in a videoconference format on June 17.

During the consultations, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular, political issues, trade and economic cooperation, including cooperation in the energy sector, as well as Ukraine-Azerbaijan cooperation in international organizations.

The parties also discussed issues of cultural and humanitarian sphere, tourism and military-technical cooperation.
