EU High Representative Borrell urges Russia to make progress in implementing Minsk accords

EU High Representative Josep Borrell held a video conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday, June 16. The situation in Ukraine was among the issues raised during the conversation.
This is stated in a press release published on the website of the European External Action Service.
“They discussed EU-Russia bilateral relations as well as a range of pressing regional and international issues… Ukraine was also discussed. High Representative Borrell encouraged Russia to make further progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” the report says.
The parties also discussed measures to counter the coronavirus pandemic, ways to resolve issues around the Iran nuclear deal, and the situation in Libya and Syria.
