Zelensky congratulates Ukrainian peacekeepers on their professional holiday
"Today, we pay tribute to the dedication and self-sacrifice of servicemen and civilians who have a difficult service around the world, fulfilling a noble mission to maintain international peace and security," the President's Office quoted Zelensky as saying.
He added that the high professionalism of Ukrainian peacekeepers and their worthy performance of tasks in troubled parts of the planet are appreciated by all UN member states.
"Peaceful residents on different continents know and remember the valor, peace and humanism of Ukrainian peacekeepers, their readiness to always come to the rescue and do everything possible to alleviate the suffering of civilians and reconcile the warring parties," Zelensky said.
According to him, Ukraine will continue to strengthen its contribution to international peace and security.
The president said that Ukrainian peacekeepers would continue to faithfully serve the ideals of humanism, peaceful existence and protection of human life.
Ukraine has officially marked the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers since 2003.
