Ukraine, China discuss strengthening of political dialogue after pandemic
"During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues in the main fields of cooperation, including infrastructure and agriculture, and outlined plans to intensify political dialogue after normalizing the epidemiological situation in the world," the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported on May 25.
The sides also paid attention to issues on the bilateral agenda and interaction in international organizations.
"The parties noted the invariability of mutual support in sensitive issues. The Chinese ambassador reiterated China's respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine," the Foreign Ministry added.
The interlocutors paid attention to ways to resolve certain problematic issues in bilateral relations, as well as identifying promising projects for joint implementation.
Yenin expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for providing humanitarian assistance to overcome the spread of coronavirus disease in Ukraine. In turn, the Chinese ambassador gratefully recalled Ukraine’s support for China.
As of May 26, 2020, Ukraine had 21,584 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases. Some 339 new cases were confirmed over the past day.
