G7 ambassadors welcome adoption of banking law in Ukraine
“The G7 Ambassadors congratulate the Rada and Administration on passing banking legislation that will strengthen Ukraine’s economy and promote deeper international economic and commercial ties,” the ambassadors said in a statement posted on their Twitter account.
As reported, on May 13, the Verkhovna Rada adopted at second reading and as a whole the bill “On introducing amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine to improve certain mechanisms for the regulation of banking activity”.
In particular, the law will make it impossible to cancel the NBU's decision to nationalize or liquidate banks and return unfair compensation from the state budget to their previous owners.
The International Monetary Fund insisted on the adoption of this law.
