Ukrinform
The EU must consistently follow the course of supporting Ukraine in the face of pressure from Russia, Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz has said.

He said this during a video conference in the format of "Group of Friends of Ukraine in the EU" with the participation of EU foreign ministers on April 21, the Polish Foreign Ministry reported.

"Russia is still exerting pressure on Kyiv. It is necessary to preserve a consistent EU course in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," Czaputowicz stressed.

Pointing to the strategic importance of Ukraine for the EU, the minister noted the need to maintain constant political contacts with Ukraine during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Czaputowicz reported on the support provided by Poland to the Ukrainian healthcare system.

As noted, the videoconference took place ahead of the meeting of EU foreign affairs ministers, which will be held on April 22. During the meeting, the ministers will assess the EU approach and policies towards the Eastern Neighbourhood in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. They will focus particularly on Ukraine and the Eastern Partnership region.
