The government is not planning to soften quarantine measures in Ukraine in April, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has stated.

"This is definitely not going to be done on April 14, as was reported by some fake media outlets and spread by news channels in Ukraine yesterday,” Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to Shmyhal, the Cabinet of Ministers in April does not intend to change those measures, which it earlier introduced until April 24. "Most likely, it [quarantine] will be extended until the beginning of May. In May, if there is positive dynamics, we will launch the economy according to an approved plan, which will be further announced by the government," said Shmyhal.

Earlier, there were reports in the media that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) allegedly had developed a project on softening quarantine measures from April 14.

However, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov has refuted those reports.
