China's foreign minister accepts invitation to visit Ukraine

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has accepted an invitation to visit Ukraine and invited his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba to China, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported, following a phone call between the two diplomats.

"Wang Yi accepted Dmytro Kuleba's invitation to visit Ukraine. He also invited Dmytro Kuleba to visit Beijing. This invitation was also accepted," the report reads.

In addition, the ministers agreed on political consultations in Beijing at the level of deputy foreign ministers.

Kuleba expressed deep gratitude to the Chinese government for humanitarian assistance in the fight against coronavirus disease COVID-19, in particular, for the cargo with personal protective equipment for Ukrainian medics, which arrived in Kyiv on April 1.

China's foreign minister last paid an official visit to Ukraine in 2010.
