Austrian Foreign Minister: Russia's efforts to lift sanctions because of coronavirus are futile

Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Alexander Schallenberg has said during a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba that Russia's attempts to lift sanctions because of coronavirus pandemic are futile.

“Both Ministers stressed the joint position regarding the necessity to maintain sanctions of the international community in response to Russia's aggressive actions and Moscow's violation of international law,” the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informs.

“Russia's efforts to lift sanctions because of coronavirus pandemic are futile,” Schallenberg assured.

As reported, Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu and Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó earlier assured Dmytro Kuleba of the firm stances of their countries on sanctions policy against Russia.
