President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky urges not to confuse the emergency situation with the state of emergency and assures that this regime means discipline, not dictatorship.

“Yesterday, the Cabinet of Ministers imposed an emergency situation regime for one month. This is an important decision for the health of Ukrainians. It should not be confused with the state of emergency. An emergency situation is a temporary legal regime that consolidates the work of all authorities and at the same time does not restrict the constitutional rights of citizens,” Zelensky said in the address on the ongoing fight against coronavirus in Ukraine, the press service of the Head of State reports.

This regime is not about dictatorship, it is about discipline, the President added.

As reported, the Government of Ukraine introduced the emergency situation regime in the entire territory of the country until April 24.
