The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has created an interagency working group to tackle the impacts of climate change, Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk says.

“The Government has created an interagency working group to tackle the effects of climate change. Its goal is to protect the health care and well-being of citizens from risks and effects of climate change. Together with the EU, we will develop an agenda to reduce emissions under the Paris Agreement. And next Tuesday, during the sixth meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Council in Brussels, we will discuss issues of cooperation under the European Green Deal," Honcharuk reported on Telegram.

The interagency working group is led by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Dmytro Kuleba.

As Ukrinform reported, on December 11, 2019, the European Commission adopted the European Green Deal. It aims to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, while boosting the competitiveness of European industry and ensuring a just transition for the regions and workers affected.
