President underscores need for reformatting several ministries
"We had some ministries united. In the beginning, it was the right decision because we have professional, staff shortage and small budget. It seems to me that time has shown that some ministries should be separated," Zelensky said at the meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk, the press service of the Head of State reports.
In this context, the President mentioned, in particular, the Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry which "is probably under challenge as it deals with everything, including agriculture." According to the President, "a new concept and a new approach" is needed.
"Maybe, the same concerns the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs... and I want to see your suggestions," the President told Honcharuk.
As a reminder, the Government merged the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food in 2019.
The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry was merged with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The Government also created the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Ukraine, by uniting the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons was merged with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
