Ukraine’s Office of Prosecutor General starts work

The Office of Prosecutor General of Ukraine has started to work today, January 2, 2020, according to the press service of the Office.

The Office of the Prosecutor General was established to replace the liquidated Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine within the reform of the system launched in September 2019 in order to increase public confidence in the prosecutor's office.

The newly created Office will include 12 departments, eight separate offices and two specialized prosecutor’s offices. In total, 1,500 employees will work at the Office of Prosecutor General.

At the same time, the press service of the Office of Prosecutor General of noted that the prosecutors' attestation was conducted. Out of 1,339 prosecutors, only 610 passed the competence assessment. A total of 55% of prosecutors were dismissed.
