NSDC secretary, Swedish ambassador discuss security cooperation

The NSDC secretary expressed gratitude for the support provided by Sweden to Ukraine in difficult times of countering external aggression and an unstable security environment.
In addition, Danilov emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries, in particular in the field of combating cyber and information threats. "The war will gradually move to cyberspace, and cyber weapons will become the major weapon, and we must be ready to counter it. Cyber and information security are our key priorities," the NSDC secretary stressed, adding that Ukraine and Sweden have a common security interest in combating the hybrid threat.
In his turn, Mr. Thyberg noted the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the training of Ukrainian military within the framework of the Canadian UNIFIER mission and in providing expert support in the reform of the Security Service of Ukraine. The ambassador also suggested that it might be promising for Ukraine and Sweden to expand cooperation in the Navy, as Ukraine and Sweden are "maritime nations, and our defense methods and structures are somewhat similar".
The parties also exchanged views on the current security situation in Europe and the world, in particular, in the context of recent negotiations in the Normandy format with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Danilov stressed that during the talks the president did not make any concessions and will never cross the "red lines", while for further success "a two-way movement is needed".
In his turn, Mr. Thyberg assured of Sweden's consistent support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and expressed readiness to further support our country and expand bilateral cooperation.
