The United States calls on the Russian Federation to fulfill its commitments made under the Minsk agreements and stop aggression against Ukraine.

Acting Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip T. Reeker said this in a statement at the 26th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Bratislava on Thursday, the U.S. Mission to the OSCE reported.

"We support the Normandy format summit scheduled for next week in Paris and are hopeful for positive outcomes that will move Ukraine closer to restoring its sovereignty and territorial integrity. In advance of those talks, we again call on Russia to fulfill its 2014 and 2015 Minsk commitments and halt its unprovoked aggression against a peaceful neighbor," he said.

Ambassador Reeker added that "the political aspects of the Minsk agreements and any future accords can only be implemented when security conditions allow."

"We also encourage all participating States to ensure their support of the OSCE’s work in Ukraine is commensurate with their commitment to peace," he added.

As reported, a Normandy Four summit is to take place in Paris on December 9. The meeting will be attended by the leaders of four countries: Ukraine, Russia, France, and Germany.
