Ukraine expects Lithuania's support for NATO's Enhanced Opportunities Program

Ukraine looks forward to Lithuania's further support for its efforts aimed to join NATO's Enhanced Opportunities Program.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this at a press conference following a meeting with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda in Vilnius on Wednesday, November 27, the president’s press service reported.

“We also share a common vision on the development of the Eastern Partnership. And we expect further support for our efforts regarding Ukraine's accession to the NATO Enhanced Opportunities Program,” Zelensky said.

According to him, joint tasks of bilateral cooperation were discussed in detail during the session of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania.

Zelensky noted that during the negotiations the parties had paid special attention to the prospects of trade, economic and investment cooperation, which showed positive dynamics.

In addition, the presidents discussed a complex of energy issues. Zelensky confirmed that our country remained a reliable partner of the European Union in ensuring the energy security of Europe.
