Lithuania firmly stands by Ukraine – Linkevicius

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevicius on the Day of Dignity and Freedom has assured that Lithuania firmly stands by the people of Ukraine.

In a post on Twitter, Linkevicius wrote: “Six years since the beginning of Maidan. Six years since thousands took to the streets demanding freedom, dignity and European future of Ukraine. Six years since thousands of lives are continued to be sacrificed resisting aggressor. Lithuania firmly stands by the people of Ukraine.”

Ukraine marks the Day of Dignity and Freedom every year on November 21, in accordance with a presidential decree of November 13, 2014. The holiday was established in honor of the commencement on this day of two significant and fateful events in contemporary Ukrainian history - the 2004 Orange Revolution and the 2013 Revolution of Dignity.
