Government intends to increase funding for Affordable Medicines program

The Cabinet of Ministers plans to buy 470 ambulances and create 25 emergency medical services next year.

Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk stated this when representing the 2020 draft state budget developed for second reading, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We intend to purchase or transfer to hospitals next year, that is, to put into operations 470 ambulances and at least 25 new emergency medical services, which will be created in line with modern standards," said Honcharuk.

In addition, Honcharuk said that the 2020 draft state budget envisages a three-fold increase in funding for the national prescription drugs cost reimbursement program Affordable Medicines.
